We’ll kick off the day with lighting and posing for teens. Jenn will demo her favorite run and gun lighting setup that she uses on location, and show how you can balance off camera flash with the ambient light to make a more natural look, or create something more dramatic with moody lighting. She’ll also share the posing rules she uses on every shoot, as well as how to make her teens feel comfortable in front of the camera. You’ll hear how she directs her subjects and how she keeps the mood light and fun!
In the afternoon, we’ll jump into sales. Jenn will go over her workflow from inquiry to consultation to the ordering session. You’ll learn how she maintains her $5800 sales average with high school seniors. And while she is a senior photographer, her methods can be used for any portrait genre. If you’ve ever had a client ghost you when it was time to order or you’re not getting the sales you want, Jenn will teach you how she overcame those obstacles. Jenn is an award-winning portrait photographer based in Clemmons, North Carolina who concentrates on seniors and headshots. She began her photography business 16 years ago as a “mom with a camera”. With a determined work ethic and tenacious personality, she grew her part-time business from her living room to her full-time 1600 square foot studio while multiplying her sales average by 10. She is an army of one, but her ADHD helps her to multitask like a BOSS.
Jenn is easily recognized by her crazy curly hair, which has been rumored to give her superpowers in her sales room. She enjoys road trips, long walks on the beach, and pink Starbursts.
